Preview
A battle is brewing for the Class 3 Boys 4x800 MICDS comes in ranked first having run 8:01 this year. The Bartelsmeyer brothers play a huge role in their team, both having run below 2 minutes. I’m sure all distance fans know the name Amos Bartelsmeyer, a 1:51 800 man. However, he has a little brother, Tilman Bartelsmeyer who has run 1:59.89 this season. They defeated Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) by two seconds at sectionals. They have a good 1-2 punch of Cole Ross and Carson Bruenderman. At the SEMO Central Conference meet they went 1:59.56 and 2:00.51 respectively. Coming in ranked third is Cardinal Ritter, a team that broke that the Class 3 Record a year ago. It does help a bit to have one of the best half-milers in the nation, Charles Jones who ran 1:49 twice last year. They also have a 2:00 runner, James Williams, and a 2:01 runner, Desaviour Ikner. They will be one tough team to beat as they have depth and a big gun in Jones. After those three, both John Burroughs and Warrensburg have run 8:09. After without question last year being the fastest year ever for this event, it will be exciting to see how fast these teams can go this year.
