It's a question that will always be debated. I doubt we will settle the argument today but I thought I would take a crack at using data to answer the question.
Here is what I did: I ran a Virtual Meet for Class 4 based on 2013 Average 5k times. Each school was assigned to a team. The team was the District they represent. I then scored that meet as a standard XC meet. The results are below:
Top 5 Girls Districts
1. 7 (46)
2. 8 (70)
3. 2 (80)
4. 1 (95)
5. 4 (129)
Top 5 Boys Districts
1. 7 (48)
2. 2 (65)
3. 8 (78)
4. 5 (104)
5. 6 (116)
So while St. Louis has the Cardinals, Kansas City has the 7-0 Chiefs and District 7, our vote for the toughest XC District in the state.
