Mugeche, Raymore-Peculiar win boys Class 4, District 7 titles

Led by senior Justin Howard's 5th place finish, the Raymore-Peculiar boys team packed five runners in the top 16 to easily win the Class 4 District 7 title on a beautiful Saturday morning at the Lake Jacomo cross country course.

The four district team qualifiers for next Saturday's Sectional 4 meet at the Ray-Pec course are:

Ray-Pec 47, Rockhurst 62, LS North 77, Truman 100.

Before the meet, the Ray-Pec boys were 7th and Rockhurst 8th in the Big River Running Top 10 boys rankings for Missouri.

In the individual race, Blue Springs junior Stephen Mugeche (ranked 5th by Big River) went through the mile at 4:46 with Truman senior Cole Rockhold (ranked 6th) as well as Rockhurst junior William Thompson (ranked 9th). By the two-mile mark, Mugeche had gained a slight lead at 9:56, with Rockhold at 10:00 and Thompson at 10:09.
