Preview

Charles Jones' twitter handle is Mr. Win It All, and he really does win it all. His last 800 that was not a qualifying race that was a loss came in 2012 when he lost to Nick Hartle at the Great Southwest Track Classic. Jones barely missed the class record last year. Keep in mind it was his own class record. Expect Jones to want to stamp his name one more time on this record and lower it a little further for generations to follow. There is a 6 second jump in season bests back to the rest of the field. Alex Burson placed second last year behind Jones and is coming in with the third best time this year of 1:56.15. Deon Johnson of Jennings is the two seed after Sectionals. He also has the second fastest time this year with a 1:56.15. Johnson has also cracked 50 in the 400 and could have the wheels if the race behind Jones turns tactical. The younger brother of 2012 1600 Champ Amos Bartelsmeyer, Tilman Bartelsmeyer is also in the race and is one of 10 guys in the Class 3 that have dipped under 2:00 this year.
