Preview

Anglerne Annelus of Grandview won this race last year as a sophomore and looks ready to defend her state title. She has run a wind-aided 11.74 and a wind-legal 11.79 this year. She placed second in a competitive 100 at the Kansas Relays to Colorado state champ Alleandra Watt. Annelus' only other loss over 100 meters this year comes from the prelims of Districts. Only two other girls have cracked 12 seconds this year. Maya Cody from Lutheran South finished second to Annelus last year and came in third in the Kansas Relays race just 17 hundreths back of Annelus. Just like Annelus, Cody has run the rest of her finals this year over 100 meters. The other girl to watch in this race is McCluer South-Berkely freshman Octavio Cato. The only other girl in this race to have gone sub 12 this year is coming off a nice win at Sectional 2 over her teammate Kamira Franklin.
