TEAM RANKINGS
Girls
1. Lafayette (Wildwood) – Our #2 ranked pre-season squad moves to #1 after edging Rock Bridge at Forest Park on the strength of top 10 finishes by Anna West and Sarah Nicholson. Elise Larson also turned in a top 25 performance.
2. Rock Bridge – Our top 2 teams in the pre-season trade places. Winners of meets in Memphis and Liberty the first two weeks the Bruins were just 7 points back of Lafayette at Forest Park
3. Nerinx Hall - The Markers are one of the teams we missed in our pre-season rankings once again look like contenders in 2014. Coach Quigley’s girls are young
4. Jackson- Another team jumping on to our rankings after a very strong 5th place finish at Forest Park the team has been led by a red hot start of the season by Chelsea Drum
5. Kearney – Barely lost the tie breaker with Jackson at Forest Park, Kearney moves up two spots.
6. Ste. Genevieve – Winners of the 2013 Festival they fell to 10th this year however it looks they were without their #5 returner from state last year.
7 Eureka – As expected the Wildcats are once again a team that will compete for another state championship
8. Festus – Festus 3-4-5 runners at Forest Park stuck together for an 11th place finish overall and 8th for teams from Missouri.
9. MICDS – Were neck and neck with #8 Festus at Lutheran South
10. Francis Howell –. We are not quite ready to drop the two-time defending state champs from our top ten until we see them racing with a full squad.
