Summit Prep's Claire Workman took over the race early and never looked back at the Richard Clark Southwest Missouri Cross Country Coaches Association Kickoff in Nixa on Saturday. Workman is the defending Class 1 Girls Champion and she dominated the field by running 18:47 on a hot muggy morning in the Ozarks. Bolivar's Allison Porter was Claire's closest competitor with a 19:35 to help the Bolivar Lady Liberators place four runners in the top ten. No team scores were recorded on Saturday https://mo.milesplit.com/meets/215599/results/38765... Other sub 20:00 minute runners included Rolla's Adelaide Brow (19:55), Bolivar's Kelsey Winfrey (19:56), and Buffalo's Shelby Jackson (19:56).
Springfield Kickapoo's Nathan Hall dominated the field as well on Saturday. Hall and a small pack of runners took an early lead. As Nathan continued to punish the pace in Nixa, only Bristol Hargis of Webb City remained in contact with less than a mile to go. Hall pulled away from Hargis and finished with an impressive winning time of 15:34 to start out his 2015 XC season. Bristol Hargis finished 2nd with a time of 15:58. Rounding out the top five were Ozark's Logan Bohannon (16:26), Ryan Riddle of Webb City (16:27), and Dalton Edwards of Springfield Glendale (16:31).https://mo.milesplit.com/meets/215599/results/38765...
