Nixa/UMKC Grad, Courney Frerichs, Featured in Flotrack Series

Nixa High School and UMKC graduate, Courtney Frerichs, will be featured in Flotrack's upcoming series, "Away From Home: Running for New Mexico". Frerichs, runner-up in this year's NCAA National Championship in the Steeplechase, is serving out her remaining eligibility in Albuquerque. The Lobos, coached by Joe Franklin, are arguably the best team in the nation with the addition of Frerichs and Rhona Auckland, 19th at the IAAF World XC Championship. The documentary focuses on how New Mexico is a team that brings high quality foreign talent.

Episode one of the series premiers September 16th.

Courtney, a 2011 graduate, excelled as a UMKC Roo. While a respectable high school career, she has flourished as one of the best female distance runners in the college ranks in the last four years. She finished 13th at the NCAA XC Championship last fall and 38th the year before that. This spring she finished only behind Nerinx Hall graduate, Colleen Quigley, in the Steeplechase.
