Hey, guys!
I am excited to do another journal to tell you about how I balance my schedule with doing two a days and how I prepare for my races! In a typical week of training I usually run before school on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's, then swim before school on Tuesday's and bike before school on Thursday's. Each morning I run it is just an easy run to try to get a little extra mileage for the week, so I don't have to run all of it in one time after school, and also to help flush my legs if I had a tough workout the day before. Cross training really helps my legs feel better, and it loosens them up so I can continue to work hard on the days designed for higher intensity! I like to do all this morning training because when I start to back it off come championship season, I will feel very fresh!
This week on Thursday I am running at Fox's home invitational. It is a very fast course, so I am excited to see what I can do on tired legs and try to get some benefit from the race that will help me at Chili Pepper next weekend where my legs will be a little more fresh. When preparing for a race that might be hot I concentrate on hydrating and putting the right food in my body to fuel me properly! Thanks, guys and best of luck to all of you racing as the championship portion of the season quickly approaches!
