Runner's Journal Week 3 Charlie McInytre

Hi, everyone! Another weekly recap I have is just getting ready for Chili Pepper still! I'm not trying to peak or run the fastest I'm going to run all year and this meet, but it is still is a big time meet that has been on my mind for a while! I am coming off of an excellent week of training that included a race last Thursday!

I wanted to see how fast I could run on tired legs and see what I could do! I was happy with how the race was going until right after the 2 miles, I was cross a parking lot, and a car was rolling towards the middle as I approached it. Then probably 20 meters before I got to the parking lot the car stopped right in my path. I had to come to a complete stop and give it a little tap so it would get out of my way. I was confused, to say the least! That kind of threw off my rhythm and I coasted in. It was good to see what I could do on tired legs even with the slight setback!

I also had a good long run on Saturday around Forest Park with my team! I always love running there because the atmosphere there is magnificent! We also got to do a fun scavenger hunt around the Zoo afterward. That was a good time. Unfortunately, my team took the L, but it was a good experience either way, and I got a good run out of it! I had one of my first faster workouts of the season on Monday of this week as a final tune-up for Chili Pepper! Best of luck to everyone competing these next couple weeks!
