After a one-year absence, the state indoor meet was resurrected in 1974 on the Hearnes Building track. The meet was a single class meet and non-scored. Athletes had to compete in a certain number of indoor meets to be able to compete at the state meet. The mile medley relay replaced the 880-yard relay and the 440-yards and 2-mile were added. In 1980, the meet became metric in the individual events - the relays still in yards, the low hurdles were dropped and a girl's meet was added. This would be the last state indoor meet.
