The Northwest Cedar Hill invite is the largest Jefferson County track and field meet of the year. The enormous meet includes seventeen boy's and girl's teams in two divisions. Inevitably, with such a large meet there will be a number of the state's top team competing at Northwest High School. Northwest high school itself is one of the most underrated boy's and girl's programs in the state.
Due to the meets size not only do you need to have a large squad to win but you also need a team with lots of talent. Typically, the top three teams at Northwest are in the hunt for team titles in the MSHSAA state series later in the season. The weekend's forecast looks to be nearly perfect minus a heavy southern wind. All competitors can expect massive personal records or season's best performances. Last year we featured the meet because of the massive performances on display and I expect this year to be no different. Click for last year's results here.
