In her last hurrah this spring, Mikayla Reed is almost a lock to shatter 5:00 in the 1600. She is the only returner in Class 4 under 5:10, having run under it three times in her career, and has run sub-5:10 over 1609 twice, too. After a convincing victory at the 2016 state cross country meet and two more golds last spring, Reed took 3rd in Jefferson City, but continued to build on her monster career. The durable Mizzou commit is a safe bet for more gold this spring and could make another run at the distance quad.
