3. Three (not just two) Boys Will Break 9:00 in the 3200 This Season
I wrote a story for MileSplit USA several weeks ago about under-the-radar boys who could potentially break 9:00 in the 3200 and Blue Springs senior Victor Mugeche and Webb City senior Ryan Riddle made that list.
Who did not make that list: Lafayette senior Nassim Oufattole.
He should have.
Ladies and gentleman, you read correctly. Three boys will break 9:00 in the 3200 this season and Nassim is the third.
This weekend at Festus Early Bird, Oufattole opened up his senior campaign with an incredible 9:21.59 which saw him beat fellow eastern Missouri star Kevin Koester by a whopping 25 seconds.
This time was just under a second slower than his personal best from last year's state meet and could make it three straight years of Lafayette boys under 9:00 - especially if he makes the same trip that the two before him did out to Arcadia.
