The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the winners of its Coach of the Year awards for each state earlier today. Missouri's winners were Hazelwood West's Tim Levine as the Boys Coach of the Year, and Trinity Catholic's Glenn Norwood as the the Girls Coach of the Year.
Tim Levine led Hazelwood West to the Class 5 Boys State Championship with a total of 66 team points. They also brought home four individual titles including Justin Robinson's titles in the 100, 200, & 400 and the 4x200m team of Brian Stiles, Aaron Holmes, Matthew Kassa, and Robinson finished atop the podium. In total Hazelwood West brought home eleven State Medals.
Glenn Norwood led the Trinity Catholic Girls to the Class 3 State Championship with a dominating 118 team points. Trinity brought home six individual State Championships including Kayla Millett's 300H title, Sydney Juszczyk's Javelin Title, Akilah Heffner's 100H and Long Jump Titles, Brooke Moore's Triple Jump Title, and the 4x100m State Title. In total they brought home 22 State Medals including a historic 1-4 finish in the 100H.
