Marissa Dick (Raymore-Peculiar)
The back to back State Medalist returns in 2019 after a fantastic junior campaign which ended in a 5th place finish at the Class 4 State Meet. She holds the fastest returning time in Class 4 as well with an 18:37, and ran sub 19 five separate times last season. This season she'll be one of the early favorites to win the state crown at Gans Creeks in November.
Mia Harris (West Plains)
The West Plains Senior is coming back off of a breakout season last year which she earned her first State Medal with a 21st place finish. She has one of the faster returning times in Class 4 with an 18:45, and ran 19:15 or lower on four separate occasions last season.
Elizabeth Stinson (Liberty North)
Stinson picked up her second XC State Medal last Fall when when she placed 19th, which followed up her 15th place finish from 2017. She is very consistently in the mid to low 19's, and has even dipped to a PR of 18:55. If she keeps steadily improving she should be able to climb higher on the medal stand in 2019.
Madison Hulsey (Lee's Summit West)
The Titan Senior had a second XC All-State performance last year with an 11th place finish, improving on her 19th place finish from the season prior. She picked up another individual State Medal on the Track this season with a 5th place finish in the 800m, and was also a member of the All-American 4x800 and National Champion DMR squads in June. This season she'll look towards the top of the podium, and will be key member of a Lee's Summit West squad that is looking to repeat as the Class 4 Team Champions.
Wesley Porter (Rockhurst)
Despite spending most of last season injured, Porter came back the week of Sectionals and then took 5th place at the State Meet to help lead Rockhurst to the Class 4 State Championship. He followed up that finish with a 2nd place finish in the 1600m and a 6th place finish in the 3200m at the Class 5 State Track Meet in May. He looks to be the early favorite to win the State XC Title this Fall.
Lucas Rackers (St. Louis University High)
The junior season of Lucas Rackers turned out to be big one, as he really burst onto the scene with a 7th place finish at the State Meet last Fall. He carried this momentum into track, and won State Medals in both the 1600m and 3200m with 4th and 5th place finishes respectively. He'll look to keep things moving this fall and should be able to compete for the State Title.
Brady Bauder (Kickapoo)
Bauder picked up his second straight XC State Medal last season when he finished 10th at Oak Hills. That followed up his 21st place finish in 2017. He'll look to move up the medal stand again in 2019, and he always get better as the season goes so he should be right there in the thick of things by the time we get to November.
