Team Race
5-time Defending State Champion Festus looks to be in position to win their 6th straight Class 3 State Championship. They've looked dominate in Class 3 this year, and they showed that again at Districts last winning District 1 over Herculaneum, who is probably the second best team in Class 3, 28-51. The last time they were at Gans Creek they took second place in the Gold Division, beating a lot of Class 4's top teams. That will leave Herculaneum, Bolivar, Westminster, Lutheran (St. Charles), and Lamar fighting for the remaining three State Trophies.
Individual Race
This race looks to be the fastest its been in a few years. Blake Morris (Notre Dame - Cape Girardeau) comes in with the fastest time in Class 3 with a 15:26, and will be the heavy favorite to win the title on Saturday. He has broken 16:00 every race he's ran this season, and looks primed to run away with the title. His closest challenge will be defending Class 2 State Champion Kolin Overstreet who look to play the spoiler, and secure his second State Championship.
