Salute to Seniors: Second Wave

Q: What does your training look like right now given the current situation?

A: My training is a grind right now. I wake up at 10 everyday meet with my buddies and we bust out workouts for 2 hours. Our coach sends us our workouts and we work together while we struggle in this tough time.


Q: What are you doing to stay busy other than run right now?

A: I work a lot, but I also have been doing ping pong trick shots. It's where I shoot a ping pong ball into a hydro flask.


Q: What was your most memorable race/moment?

A: My most memorable race moment would have to be winning confrence this year. It was just a crazy race that I have been working towards since my freshman year. 

Q: What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?

A: the funniest would have to be the hotels and the dinners with the teams. Just all the crazy things we did. First to come to mind was in Arkansas With all my boys. We fit 20 people in a Porta potty.

Q: Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

A: Definitely Royce Fishcer 

Q: What was your greatest accomplishment?

A: Id have to say either winning conference or making it to state. After being injured all last year.

Q: If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

A: I would've taken rest and not ran on my stress fractures so I could help my team last year.

Q: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

A: Coming back from a injury and not being noticed.

Q: What will you miss the most?

A: I'm gonna miss my team, but I'm mainly gonna miss everyday before a race my coach would make me an ice bath and talking to me about my week and how the race will play out tommrow.

Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes?

A: Work hard because nothing comes easy. Also don't rush through your 4 years it goes by faster than you'd think. 

Q: What kind of an impact has your coach had on you and your team?

A: My Coach is my rock. Both of my coaches kept me in this sport and made me fall in love. 

Q: What are your college plans?

A: I haven't committed yet, but I plan on committing soon.

Q: Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?

A: I would like to say thank you to my fellow competitors, my teammates over the past 4 years, all my coaches, and my family. I want to thank my mom most of all for always being there for me over every stretch of the way.

A: Thank you running for being my everything and helping me find my way!
