Missouri Track's Top Returning Boys Distance Runners


In just a little over one week we will have results pouring in from around state as track season will have officially began. Today we are going to look at the top returning boys distance runners that are sure be at the top of those early season results. 

Micah Bruggeman (Joplin) will enter the 2021 season with the top returning time in the boys 800m with his 1:55 from the state meet in 2019. Following him will be Luis Perezruiz (Liberty North) at 1:58, Reginald King (Grandview) at 1:58, and Dyimond Walker (Hogan Prep) and Kaleb Owens (Kirkwood) both at 2:00.

The 1600m will also be led by Micah Bruggeman  (Joplin) who enters the year with a time of 4:18. The other runners leading the way will be Cale Littrell (Hickman) at 4:23, Matthew Hauser (Rock Bridge) at 4:24, Ethan Lee (Liberty North) at 4:25, and Luis Perezruiz (Liberty North) at 4:26.

Cross Country state champ Matthew Hauser (Rock Bridge) leads the pack in the 3200m with a time of 9:38, followed by Thomas Andersen (Parkway West) and Nick Cimmarusti (Francis Howell) at 9:43, Brock Wooderson (Blue Springs) at 9:45, Micah Bruggeman (Joplin) and Nejmadin Ahmed (East - Kansas City) both at 9:46, and Daelen Ackley (El Dorado Springs) at 9:48.
