When did you first start running, and do you recall any of your childhood races?
I started running in the eight grade because my friends did it. I also needed something to pass the time.
Was there a certain moment when you realized you'd be able to compete at such a high level?
Not that I can remember. I just kept improving over my running career.
What are some bumps in the road that you've encountered when it comes to training for different events during the season?
I do all of the distance events so I have to make sure I train for each one.
How did COVID impact your training as you prepared for the season?
I wasn't able to run with my team over the summer and cross country was very different as we had to run in groups I stood as a team.
Where are you going to college? If you have already committed, what made you choose them?
I am going to St. Louis Community College in Wildwood. I chose them because of the A-Plus program. After two years there, I am going to Mizzou.
Let's discuss the college searching process. What was that like, and what schools did you look at?
I already knew I was going to STLCC because of the A-Plus program. I am going to Mizzou after that because they have a good climatology program.
Is there another track event you wish you were good at? What is appealing about it?
I wish I was good at the 400 because everybody seems to like watching the event.
What are some hobbies and interests you have outside of running?
I like playing other sports in my free time. I like reading and working on puzzles.
Who is your role model, and why?
My role model is Albert Pujols because I looked up to him as a kid. He is good at what he does and doesn't give up.
Everyone has a bucket list, so give us some of things on your list!
Traveling out of the country. Seeing a St. Louis sports team win a championship in person. Watching people land on Mars.
What is the best advice you have received?
Give it your all every race so you don't regret it later on.
What is your favorite pre-race snack, tradition, etc.?
Our team had pasta parties two days before meets. My favorite pre-race snack is pop tarts.
If you could do a sport other than XC/Track, what sport would it be, and why?
Playing baseball in high school sounds fun because I played it when I was young. I was a really good pitcher.
Any Final Shout outs?
