We've wrapped up the third full week of the 2021 Missouri cross country season, and this week saw some top notch performances by Missouri's athletes.
We have a new number one time in Missouri on the boys side for the third straight week. Daelen Ackley (El Dorado Springs) ran a dazzling 15:10 to win the always super competitive and very fast Missouri Southern Stampede. That's gives him the fastest 5K time in Missouri this season, and is currently the 45th fastest time in the United States.
Amelia Arrieta (St. Teresa's) also had a very good week, picking up her third straight victory of the season as the LSN Invitational. Her winning time of 18:14 currently stands as the second fastest time in Missouri this year, and she appears to be picking up steam.
Frances Luna (Cor Jesu) was the top Missourian at the Missouri Southern Stampede on the girls side, finishing second place in a very strong field. She picked up a new PR in the process with a time of 18:47 which is the sixth fastest time in the state this season.
