Two-plus minutes later, the Liberty (Wentzville School District) tent nearly took flight. Unlike the other "E-Z UP" tents, it uses poles consisting of connected sections tied to stakes in the ground and unlike the collapsible poles of most tents. Its thick vinyl top appeared to be headed heavenward, but athletes jumped into action to keep it down.

One minute later, Wentzville school district's new, fourth high school, North Point, had its tent initiated. It blew across the track and nearly into the high jump pit. Nearby athletes wrangled it down and moved it off.
