Liberty North, one of the top teams in the country, dominated its league meet.

The Eagles had four in the top 10 to win the Suburban Gold title, led by standout junior Sage Wilde.

He tackled the 5K course at Lee's Summit North in 15:13.72, a more than 40-second margin of victory. Wilde has been first or second in every race he's taken part in this year.

He took second in this race last year.

Jorge Perez, Grayson Tapp and Collin Kleinhen finished in order, fourth through sixth, respectively.

The trio was separated by a little more than two seconds.

That helped give the Eagles a team score of 27, easily securing the league title. Runner-up Raymore-Peculiar finished with 53 points. That was the same order in the team standings as last year.

The Gold division featured five teams this year instead of eight due to conference realignment. Four of the five teams had at least runners in the top 10.
