Coverage from 2022 MSHSAA Class 5 District 4 XC meet

It was a good day to be a Liberty runner at the Class 5 District 4 meet.

The boys race featured nine runners from either Liberty  or Liberty North cross the finish line in the top 10 at the district meet held at Jesse James Park in Kearney. 

Sage Wilde continued his dominance for Liberty North, winning in 15:46.83 and will be on the shortlist to win the title this week. Eagles that followed were Jorge Perezruiz (4th), Grayson Tapp (7th) and Asher Curp (8th).

Liberty's top-10 runners were Myles Thornburg (2nd), Peyton Willbanks (6th) and Connor Nicholson (9th)

The only runners in the top 10 not from the town of Liberty were Blue Springs South's Trystn Hammer, who was third and Grain Valley's Carson Hill.

Liberty North boys won the team title, followed by Liberty.

Two of the top three finishers in the girls race were freshmen: Madilynn Conklin (2nd, Park Hill South) and Wynn Generally (3rd, St. Teresa's Academy). Blue Springs' Abigail Brackenbury won in 19:03.16, a 32-second win.
