William Woods inks 5 in-state recruits

William Woods has added five in-state recruits from the Class of 2023 for the track and field and track and field team.

The list includes Kyle Hagemeyer, an all-stater in both track and field and cross country.

Hagemeyer was eight in the MSHSAA Class 2 State XC Championships this fall - his best finish in four trips to state. He was an all-state each year, taking 14th in Class 2 in 2021 and was all-state in Class 1 in 2020 (9th) and (15th) in 2019.

He's also a state champion in track and field. In the spring of 2022, he was fourth in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter in MSHSAA Class 2 State Championships. He won the state champion in the 1,600-meter in 2021 and was the runner-up in the 3,200-meter.

He didn't get to compete his freshman season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another distance runner coming is Lucas Morgan from Owensville. He was a state qualifier in Class 3 in 2021.

Coming from the Fulton college from Fulton High School is Zachery Cooper, who does the 100- and 200-meter dash and long jump.

Saylor Richardson is another Owensville signee. She took 15th at the MSHAA Class 3 State Championship this spring in the 100-meter dash.

This past spring, she was second in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash. She also ran cross country for the Dutchgirls.
