All-state runner-up Kip Atteberry of Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin was the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association Class 1 All-Region team.
Atteberry won four races during the cross country season, including the Ozark 7 Conference Meet and the MSHSAA Class 1 District 2 meet. He was the MSHSAA Class 1 State XC Championship runner-up.
Class 1 team champion Hermitage had three first-team picks and six total honorees. That led to Mark Sabala being named the coach of the year.
