Zaya Akins broke three meet records to highlight a total of five broken during the 61st Annual Bill Summa Invitational held April 8 at William Chrisman High School.
The Raytown South standout and future Kentucky runner won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter races and broke meet records in all of them. St. Joseph Central's Makenzie Garr won the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 6 3/4 inches and bested a mark that stood since 2014. Jennifer Hinkle of Knox County broke the javelin record.
All told, 53 top-10 girls marks were set during the event. Below, find video highlights of the events.
