Rock Bridge Rolls

The Rock Bridge Lady Bruins cruised to the meet team title. They racked up points across every event group and totaled 133 points for the win and a 51-point margin of victory. Tamyra Nevills won the discus with a 118' toss and was 3rd in the shot put. Junior Liza Allen won the high jump with a 1.57m/5-1.75 clearance.

Rock Bridge won the 4x200 (1:43.44) and 4x400 (4:07.59) titles while taking 2nd to Battle (49.54) in the 4x100 (50.02). Senior Sunday Crane ran legs on all three of those relays while also winning the triple jump with a best mark of 11.48m/37-8. Sophomore Lauren Miller won the 400 in 1:01.67, while Afton's Anna Daughtry was 2nd.

Senior Grace Parsons took up hurdling for the first time last summer. She's a quick study. She runs cross country in the fall while last spring she ran the 400, 800, and threw the discus along with running the long relays. This year, she's starring in the 110 and 300 hurdles along with the 4x200 and 4x400. She won the Kansas Relays 300H last month in 44.98 seconds.

In Hillsboro, she ran to non-recorded wind PR in the 100-hurdles in 15.11. She followed with a leadoff leg on the winning 4x200. Her 3rd event of the day was the 300 hurdles, where she dominated, finishing in a hand-timed 43.84 for a nearly 3-second win. That finish strengthened her hold on the #2 spot in the state. Parsons finished the meet under the lights, leading off the Bruins winning 4x400, which finished in 4:07
