WESTON, Mo. - It took until the 4x400-meter relay for East Buchanan to seal its district title over host West Platte at Saturday's Class 2 District 8 Championships in Weston.
The Bulldogs were able to secure the title with three champions. Junior Trevor Klein won the triple jump and sophomore Trey Johnson won the javelin while Carson White, Kyler Paxton, Parker Conroy and Aidan Hensley won the 4x800-meter relay.
West Platte was paced by the exploits of senior Charlie Kinslow and sophomore August Hill. Kinslow won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs.
Hill was busy winning the 100-meter dash and taking second in the 200-meter dash while also participating in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relay championships.
Lafayette County won the 4x400-meter relay while junior Shakor George swept the hurdle titles.
Lexington's Dariyan Reaves won the 200-meter dash and Plattsburg's Carson Stockdale won the 400-meter dash. North Platte's Noah Heckman won the 3,200-meter run.
Lafayette County senior Cade Limback won both the discus and shot put. Lexington's Damario Moss won the high jump while Maysville's Kayden Gabbard won the long jump. Gabbard is a dual-sport athlete in the spring for the Wolverines - also excelling in baseball.
St. Paul Lutheran picked up an individual title with Timotej Stuchly winning the pole vault.
Class 2 Sectional 4 is set for Saturday in Plattsburg.
