One athlete that provided many great performances to capture was Maysville's Mirabella Redman. The senior Lady Wolverine from Northwest Missouri qualified for the 2022 Class 2 state meet in two events. As a junior she won the 300-hurdles in 45.97 while also taking 4th in the pole vault, clearing 3-meters/9-10. Redman went on to compete for Team Missouri at the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic in Albuquerque.

in 2022, Redman also competed in the long jump, as well as the high jump, and 200-meter dash. She didn't advance out of districts in the latter two events. As a senior this year, Redman added the 100-hurdles to her repertoire while dropping the 200. Her focus on the 100 and 300 hurdles as well as the pole vault and long jump paid off.

Six years after Columbia Independent School'Khristen Bryant earned the Class 1 4th place team trophy and made the trip to the awards podium by herself, Maysville's Mirabella Redman did the same.

It wasn't an easy feat and other teams had more athletes and more scoring opportunities than Maysville and Redman and her four events.

Redman ran 46.70 in the 300-hurdles prelim before repeating as the 300-meter hurdles champion, finishing in a personal best of 45.22 seconds. Before repeating in the 300-hurdles, Redman added the long jump title to resume, flying 5.33m/17-6 on her final attempt to come from behind and win. The two titles gave Maysville 20 big team points.

In the pole vault, Redman cleared 3.03m/9-11.25. That mark tied her with two other athletes, but she edged the pair with fewer misses at lower bars, finishing 4th and scoring 5 points instead of 4 or 3 points for 5th or 6th-place.

In the 100-hurdles, Mirabella ran 15.63 seconds to place 3rd in the prelims and tie her personal best. In the finals on Saturday, she improved her personal record to 15.55 which placed her 5th and giving the Wolverines 4 more points.

All meet long the Class 2 Girls team title fight was a back and forth battle between defending champions North Platte and Tolton Catholic. North Platte edged Tolton by three points, 86-83. South Harrision scored 35 points to secure the 3rd-place trophy.

After her win in the 300-hurdles, Redman and Maysville were in trophy with position with 29 points. However, lurking 8 points back was Lutheran North and freshman sensation Genesis Garner. Garner had already placed 2nd in the 400-meters in 57.53, a time that puts her atop the freshman state performance list and 75th on the national freshman list.

Garner had also won the 200-meter dash prelims, edging North Platte superstar Olivia Rogers. A win by Garner would give the Lutheran North Lady Crusaders 10 points to total 31 and jump them over Maysville and Redman's 29.

However, Missouri State University signee Olivia Rogers wasn't going to let a freshman, or anyone beat her in a final, especially in her last individual final race in the purple and gold of North Platte. Rogers blasted around the curve and down the homestretch for the win in 25.34 while teammate and 400 champ Lindsay Ramsey was 4th to give North Platte 15 more points. Garner was 2nd in 25.66, scoring 8 points for Lutheran North and tying the Crusaders with Redman and Maysville for 4th in the final team standings.

Maysville and Lutheran North finished with 29 points. Redman's performance was worthy alone to take the trophy home by herself to Maysville, however, MSHSAA gave the trophy for Redman momentarily to take awards photos with before having her give it up for Lutheran North's photo-op and drive back to St. Louis County. Redman had to wait as MSHSAA would ship another 4th-place trophy to Maysville.

It was an amazing meet for Redman, as she joined rare company in earning a trophy all by herself.

With a two-way tie for 4th, Redman had to give the 4th-place trophy back so Lutheran North could take photos with it and take it home while Redman and Maysville had to wait for a second trophy to be ordered and shipped.
