2023 Class 4 Boys State TF Photos: Galleries + Featured Pics

There were two clear top contenders for the 2023 Class 4 Boys State Track and Field title in Festus and Hillsboro from Jefferson County. Defending champion Kearney graduated plenty of talent but also returned a fair share.

Hazelwood East had a breakout superstar lead the Spartans to trophy contention. Webb City was looking for another trophy two years after winning. Lutheran St. Charles was in Class 4 for the first time after taking 2nd a year ago in Class 3 and being Championship Factor'd up a class.

St. Louis County schools MICDS and Ladue, who sit just over a mile from each other, entered the meet looking to score big points in the sprints and relays. Traditional sprint power Grandview out of the Kansas City area entered with big point possibilities in the throws. Other teams entered the meet with trophy possibilities.

When the dust settled after two days of competition, the Festus boys ended up on top with 76 points and Hillsboro as the runner-up with 63. Kearney was 3rd with 47 while Hazelwood East edged Webb City for the 4th and final trophy by one point, 41-40. MICDS and Ladue tied for 6th with 37 while Grandview was 8th with 34.
