Missouri Week in review (April 8-13, 2024)

The second week of April featured plenty of meets and on Friday and Saturday, there were key performances across the state and big-level meets.

Some of the best distance runners in the state headed to Kansas City to participate in the Gary Parker Invitational in Blue Springs. Up the road a little, the first-ever Ken Peek Invitational was held at Liberty North, renamed in honor of the former coach who lost his battle to cancer earlier in February. On Saturday, Jackson Cantwell from Nixa reset the state record in the shot put with a throw of 72 feet, 3 3/4 inches at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City at the Licklider Relays

More on that throw to come this week.
