Meet Your New MO and KS MileSplit Site Editor

Hi all! My name is Kyle Deeken and I am very excited to be the new Site Editor for Missouri and Kansas MileSplit!

Many of you in Missouri may already know me as a contributor and stats associate - focused primarily on Missouri - for the better part of the last seven years.  In 2017, I spent 5 months as the Missouri Site Editor before moving to Austin to become a part of the stats and content team for the National site before returning to Missouri later in 2018. I am eager to get started once again with Missouri and help continue all the great work the contributors in Kansas have been doing over the last several years.

I am a Head Cross Country Coach myself, as I have spent the last four years with the Boys and Girls teams at North Point High School in Wentzville, Missouri. Before that I spent two years with Francis Howell High School in St. Charles and two years with Ft. Zumwalt East in St. Peter's. During the day, I work as an Elementary School Counselor at Wabash Elementary in the Wentzville School District. I have been involved in long distance running since my freshman year of high school at Ft. Zumwalt North in 2008. I graduated from Maryville University - St. Louis in 2015 where I competed in NCAA Division II cross country and track field.

My passion truly is making MileSplit a great website to visit by creating unique and insightful articles that highlight as many athletes and teams as possible, as well as a rankings database that is clean, accurate, and worth the subscription. Over the next few weeks, expect to see plenty of content highlighting subjective individual rankings, top performers and performances, and upcoming big meets. I am excited to work with all of our MO and KS contributors to provide quality photo and video content, as well.

I look forward to working with all of you and making these the best sites they can be! You can feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions and comments. I also welcome any ideas for feature pieces if you have unique things happening at your meets, in your area, or on your team. My email address is kdeeken1@gmail.com.

Good luck to everyone this year! How sweet it is!
