Hickman's Thomas prepares for T&F season, future at Duke

Langston Thomas has put himself on the map for being one of the fastest runners in Missouri.

The Columbia Hickman senior won a pair of state titles last year for the Kewpies. He won the MSHSAA Class 5 title in the 100-meter dash in 10.37, the fastest time ever posted in the finals.  He was on the 4x100-meter relay team that also took first place, running 41.59.

His weekend last spring in Jefferson City included a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash and third in the long jump.

Thomas set a Class 5 meet record in the prelims in the 200 with a time of 21.21.

In December, Thomas posted a group of seven schools he considered signing. The list featured UCLA, Houston, Georgetown, Duke, DePaul, Georgia Tech and hometown school Missouri.

Ultimately, Thomas signed with Duke on Dec. 12.

He joined Mo Mile Split to talk about his decision, the 2024 track season, his hopes for this track season and his future of being a Cameron Crazy watching the Blue Devils.
