Class 4 Boys
The Top Returners
A whopping six boys return for the 2026 season with marks over 50 meters led by Camdenton's Elijah Dickerson. The Javelin specialist had a breakthrough 2025 season, finishing it out with a 55.75m (182-11) personal best and an eventual fifth place medal at the State meet. He's nearly two meters ahead of Kearney's Hudson Best, who is looking to carry on the recent string of success for the Bulldogs. Best was 12th at last year's State meet and carries in a 54.07m (177-4) personal best into this spring. Smithville's Jack Linder-Maloney is the other returner over 51 meters with his 52.66m (172-9) personal best.
The "Chase Pack"
Three boys return within a few millimeters of each other. Helias Catholic will be back in Class 4 again this year and Cash Warner is fourth among returners with his 51.52m (169-0) mark. Camdenton's Ty Wiethop makes it two Lakers in the top five among returners with a 51.50m (168-11), just ahead of Father Tolton's Dominik Abadi (51.49m, 168-10.75). Abadi was all-State in 2024, but missed out in 2025 and is looking to return to the medal stand.
Sleeper Pick to Watch
Jefferson City has a good shot at being back in Class 4 this year which means Jefferson City's Victor Azuara is back to compete for a State title in the second highest enrollment class. He was a State qualifier in 2024, but missed out on the Class 5 meet in 2025. He threw 48.69m (159-9) which would put him eighth among returners, but it will all depend on how MSHSAA draws out the enrollment breaks.
