The Valle Catholic Boys started the meet off claiming the Class 1 4x800 State Championship with a time of 8:23, winning by 10 seconds.
Trenton blasted an 8:06.36 to win the Class 2 Boys 4x800
Sydney Deeken won her first of four events this weekend, winning the Class 2 Girls Triple Jump. Last year Deeken completed the same quadruple where she took first in the high jump, third in the triple jump, fourth in the long jump and tenth in the 200. Look for her to continue to rack up points this weekend for California.
DeKalb freshman Ryleigh Reagan edged out last years runner up Mackenzie Weis to claim the Class 1 Girls 1600 Meter Championships.
Kaitlyn Fischer defended her state title in the 1600 winning the Class 2 Girls Championship with a time of 5:11.49.
Hollister senior Jordan Britton won the Class 2 Boys Long Jump with a mark of 21-10.75
Penney senior T.J. Schieber became a two-time state champ winning the Class 2 Boys Shot Put for the second straight year.
Bubba Galvan began his quest to defend his four state titles from last year by winning the Triple Jump. The senior from Wheaton also placed first in the 110 Hurdles today.
Blake Goodin collected his 9th gold medal in the 3200m with a winning time of 10:12.88.
Ryan Jackson ran a blazing 9:41.37 to win the Class 2 Boys 3200m.
