In the Boys 4x800 Cardinal Ritter, anchored by sophomore sensation Charles Jones, taking the Class 3 title and class record with a blazing fast time of 7:50.80 followed closely by Warrensburg who barely missed dipping under the old state record with a time of 7:51.84.

 

 For Class 4, it was Rockhurst blasting a US #11 7:45 followed closely by Ft. Zumwalt West's US #16 7:47.77.  Rockhurst was only 3 seconds off the 31 year old state record of 7:42 set by University City back in 1981.

 

In the Class 4 Boys High Jump, Liberty Senior Jared Benson took the title with a personal best mark of 6-10.

 

Hazelwood East Senior Tianna Valentine had the fastest time of the day in the Class 4 Girls 100 Meter Dash Prelim running a 11.73 with Nerinx Hall Senior Peyton Chaney close behind with a 11.83. 

 

Grandview senior Dapo Akinmoladun blasted out a 13.99, just three hundredths of a second off the state meet record, to run the fastest time for the Class 3 Boys 110 Meter Hurdles Prelims. 

 

Nataliyah Friar (JR, Holt) won her third state title and second title in the triple jump winning with a mark of 39-00.75.

 

Last years runner up Asia Cole won the Class 4 Girls Shot Put with almost a four foot personal best mark of 46-01.  Cole was just a foot and a half off the state record of Valeyta Alhouse set back in 1992.

 

Saga Barzowski (JR, Arcadia Valley) won her second straight title in the Class 3 Girls 1600 Meter Run.

 

Blue Springs South Senior Samantha Nightingale blew the field away in the last 100 meters taking the Class 4 Girls 1600 Meter title.

Brittany Kallenberger of Lee's Summit West wins the high jump for the second year in a row.  She cleared 5-8, tying the second best mark in state history.  Kylie Ellison also cleared 5-8, tying the second best mark in state history as well.
