Where are they now? - Liz Reida - Kickapoo Class of 2011

MoMilsplit.com's popular 2012 Salute to Seniors Series has a sequel. Liz Reida from the University of Missouri, a former Kickapoo standout,  kicks off our Where Are They Now? series.

Where did you continue your running career after high school?
Mizzou

What was the biggest adjustment you had to make to compete at the college level?
Cooking for myself haha.  But really, coaching staffs are smart.  They will ease you into things to make the transition smooth.

Is there anything you can tell high school athletes to better prepare them for the college experience?
Work hard and have fun.  If you do both, then you'll be successful at anything you do.

What memories from competing in high school stand out the most?
Definitely the Kickapoo girls 2nd place finish at state in cross country my Junior year. Getting to compete at state always stood out.

What do you miss most about running in high school?

I really miss the traditions Kickapoo had.  I loved the pasta parties every friday, secret pals, temporary tatting up before races, and adventure runs.  I loved my team!

What piece of coaching or advice that someone gave you has been the biggest help?

Not to be a broken record but I have to go with, "Work hard and have fun. If you do both, then you'll be successful at anything you do." I think a lot of people forget why they started sports in the first place and lose the right perspective.
