Q –  Running after Isaac? How did you adjust to the conditions?

Well the conditions weren't quite ideal, but that's just the nature of the sport. We watched everyone in the previous races struggling on certain turns, hills, etc. and so we talked with our coach before the race and figured out where we needed to avoid. Thankfully the rain began to let up some for our race.

Q – Some big names have graduated, Tell us about the adjustment of becoming the senior on this team?

Yeah, you can't replace guys like Caleb Wilfong, Jordan Cook, Nick Dale or Collin Sees. All those guys played huge roles for Rock Bridge the past few years. We knew the team dynamics would be much different coming into this season. Not a whole lot has changed except that it's weird not having to chase Caleb and J in the workouts now. This being my last high school XC season is definitely a bitter sweet feeling.

Q - Rockbridge is the defending Class 4 Champions, How excited was the team to win their first meet in 2012?

It was a great feeling when we found out we won. We hadn't raced cross country for so long that it was good to get that monkey off our backs and reassure ourselves of the hard work we put in this summer. We knew that Liberty was a threat and also that St. Joseph Central was a really solid team. So going into the meet we knew we would have to work for it. I'm happy because the guys stepped up and we did just what we needed to. It also gave us a chance to sport the Nike headbands that just look extremely attractive.

Q – Where are you racing next?

We are racing at Forest Park this weekend. See you there, Paul!

Thanks Nate - We'll be looking for you in the lead pack on Saturday.
