After so much success it was clear to Bartelsmeyer than it was time to commit to running full time and give up soccer, like others including Kyle Rood, who gave up soccer to run full time which led to three individual state titles, two straight cross country state titles, and a runner-up state track team finish at Ft Zumwalt South High School for Coach Paul Enke. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7GpoMkZ_p8&list=UU_ozwWhwRpRyLl6sXnpFISQ&index=13&feature=plcpBartelsmeyer's first high school cross country season was a great success. A 1st place finish at the District championships helped give MICDS a 1 point team victory over Ladue at Jefferson Barracks. A week later Bartelsmeyer took 4th at the Class 3 State Meet helping the Rams to a 3rd place team trophy. Bartelsmeyer will look to follow Daniel Everett in qualifying for the Adidas Grand Prix Jim Ryun Dream Mile. He'll try to win the 1600 at the Kansas Relays in two weeks and break 4:09 to earn the trip.
