De Soto Junior High Open Track and Field Meet

Time: | Field Events start at 3:30pm and running events at 4:30pm. A brief coaches meeting will begin at 3:15pm in the track shed located at the northeast corner of the track (set opening heights). The meeting will end promptly at 3:30 pm. |
Awards/Scoring: No score will be kept and no medals will be awarded.
Surface:8 Lane rubberized track. We allow 3/16 and below on the track and runways. NO TAPE on the track or runways! Use chalk or tennis balls for marks
Seeding:We are going to seed the 100, 100H, 200, and 400m based on team. In other words we will run a Festus heat(s), De Soto heat(s) etc. this is to cut down on team mixing when bullpen will be the most busy. The other races will be seeded randomly as usual for no times.
Field Events: Shot put, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump will have 4 attempts. These distances need to be measured by a high
school student-athlete and not recorded. Student volunteers will be in each area to assist as needed and tools will be furnished (tapes, rakes, etc). Pole Vault and High Jump will receive 3 attempts per height and will operate as if in a normal track meet (can move bar down if absolutely needed).
Miscellaneous: Bathrooms available; however, we DO NOT have locker rooms available for athletes. There will be a concession stand available. There will be an area for putting up tents on the practice field west of the stadium. The turf field will be used as a warm up area. No gum,sunflower seeds, or food is allowed on the turf. Please inform you athletes of this rule. A meal ticket will be issued to coaches
Bus Parking: Lot near the tennis courts at the east end of the Stadium and also on the Junior High faculty lot located at top of hill. St. Louis Street will also be available.
Medical issues: A trainer maybe be present at the event
Entries: Entries will be unlimited and need to be put into Mo.milesplit for lane assignments. Relays will be limited 2 per school per gender.
