We will be hosting our nineth annual Robert Kelsay Invitational Cross Country Meet October 21. The meet will be at the Salisbury Municipal Golf Course located approximately one mile south of town on Highway 129. If you enter Salisbury from the north, take Highway 129 south. There will be a sign for the golf course on the right. Turn right and follow the blacktop all the way to the end. It ends at the club house. If you are coming from the south, the sign will be on the left.
Currently the following schools are attending: Braymer, Brunswick, Cairo, Columbia Independent, Glasgow, Green Ridge, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Higbee, La Plata, Meadville, Monroe City, New Bloomfield, New Franklin, Northwestern, Prairie Home, Salisbury, Schuyler County, South Shelby, and Westran.
The entry fee is $50 per team, $100 per school, $10 per athlete.
We will medal the top 20 runners in each race and they will be handed out in the chute at the finish line. Medals will be given to the top two teams at the conclusion of boys races and results have been tabulated.
The girls' race will begin at 4:30 p.m., and the boys' race will begin at 5:00 p.m. We will fire a 10 minute gun, a 5 minute gun and a 3 minute whistle.
Please enter your athletes on momilesplit by 5:00 pm on Oct 20. If you have any questions on the entries, you can email sgladbach@salisbury.k12.mo.us, and I will give instructions. The coaches' meeting will be at 4:10 p.m at the starting line.
We will run a girls race followed by a boys race.
A course map is included and will be in the packet the day of the meet.
The course is mostly grass and dirt. There will be two or three places where the course crosses gravel roads/cart paths. Concrete cart paths will be covered with rubber mats.
Special Instructions:
Upon arrival to the golf course, please set up camp by school and spread out across the driving range. Please NO TENTS on Golf Course, make sure they are in driving range.
Please DO NOT use the clubhouse as a meeting place. We will be limiting the number of students in the clubhouse to use the bathroom, and will have porta potties.
We strongly encourage each school to stay within your own school and practice social distancing.
Please DO NOT congregate at the finish line or starting line in order to help protect each other and the workers present.
At the conclusion of your race we ask runners to go immediately to their school camp and to leave the finish line area.
Our thanks to the Salisbury Municipal Golf Course for allowing us to host this meet at the golf course. A trash bag will be in the packet. Please use it to help us keep the course clean. Also, remind your athletes and spectators to stay off the greens.
