Preview
The returning champs Cardinal Ritter will come into Jefferson City the favorites with the top time from Sectionals, the fastest time this year, and the fastest 400 runner in the field. Outside of 47.6 guy Charles Jones they have 21-7.5 long jumper Alvin Thompson, 1:58 800 runner Desaviour Ikner and a freshman Eric Brice. The only team that has come close to Cardinal Ritter's 3:19 is McCluer South-Berkely. The Bulldogs appear to have a little more depth on paper with two guys sub 50 this year, one of which did not run at Sectionals where they narrowly lost to Cardinal Ritter, and a slew of other quick sprinters and hurdlers. Place in 49.5 runner Michael Miller and this race gets a little closer. Also look out for Valle Catholic who are new to Class 3 and are looking to make a splash after their 3:23.88 at Sectionals.
