Next week is a big week. Not only does it mark the beginning of the cross country season, but it also will be when we release our Big River Running Preseason Rankings. The Big River Rankings have been the guide for the over five years, making sense of who beat who and figuring out who the top teams and individuals are.
While we were making our top 15 guys, we stumbled across a problem. Three runners have a VERY strong case to be #1. While we have made our decision, it got us thinking, who does the state think should have that top spot. All three have a long list of accomplishments, but we trimmed it down to what made each stand out. Tweet at us why you think your choice should have that top spot.
The Case for Clayton Adams
He was the second place finisher at the State Meet and is the top returner from all classes.
The Case for Austin Hidman
Undefeated track season including a Class 5 3200m title in 9:11, 19th at NXN MW, leading a team that is out to make it to NXN.
The Case for Ben Naeger
Naeger, not in Class 4, beat Adams at Forest Park and then beat Hindman at NXN Midwest.
