Bruckner, a Californian and Texas commit, flew across the country to cold and rainy conditions in Philadelphia last Thursday. She lost by eleven inches to someone who might be even more unused to the cold than her--Jamaican Shanice Love, who set a new PR of 179-6 to win the Penn Relays discus. Bruckner's PR of 186-10 is seven feet better than that, but both Love's winning throw and Bruckner's runner-up mark were better than the old meet record of 178-1.
