If a Hoey were going to take down pre-race favorites Noah Affolder and Brandon McGorty, it should've been senior/PA state champ/Jaxson, right? Instead, it was Jaxson's younger brother Josh who surprised everyone--including himself, watch the interview--with a searing drive from 300 meters out to win a watch in Philly.
Josh Hoey's pre-race mile PR was 4:17; his best finish in a big race before this one was second behind Jaxson in the mile at the Pennsylvania indoor state meet.
