Often an afterthought because of their newness and lack of history, Liberty North has quickly built up a formidable team for the 2017 season. A qualifier in 2016 out of a tough Sectional 4, Liberty North finished a respectable 11th in their first trip to the Class 4 state meet. Their entire returning Top 7 does not include a single rising senior and the Lady Eagles look like a strong contender possibly even for a podium run. With Kelsey Cox graduating, the one thing Liberty North lacks is that consistent low-scoring #1, like our #2 team has, but what they do have is 1:23 1-5 split and a 19:49 #1 in Elizabeth Stinson - a rising sophomore. It will be interesting to see how the Lady Eagles progress this season and how they challenge the myriad teams already ranked ahead of them in Sectional 4.
