Class 1 Girls Pole Vault is a close one and Francis finds herself in first heading into the season as a result of her personal best advantage. After jumping 9-3 for second in Sectional 3, she cleared 9-0 for 4th at State and, as a result, can say she is the only girl in Class 1 who has cleared 9-0 more than once. With Khristen Bryant at KU now, Francis will battle it out with a number of girls for the gold this spring, but her experience over 9-0 gives her the nod heading into the 2018 season.
