Meet Recap: Class 4 Boys Track and Field Champs

The Harrisonville 4x100-meter relay team repeated as state champions. The Wildcats had the second-best time in the prelims on Friday but the team of Nate Reynolds, Jace Reynolds, Adysen Eng and 100-meter individual champ Joseph Michel, ran 42.28 - beating Camdenton by five-tenths of a second to take first. Michel and Jace Reynolds were returning runners from the team last year.

 

Camdenton's Angel Dickerson won the 200 (21.20) ahead of 100 champ Michael, took second in the long jump and was fourth in the 100. He was also on the 4x100 that took second.

 

Camdenton's Angle Dickerson won the 200 in 21.20, while Joseph Michael (left middle) was 2nd in 21.29, Heston Miller (left) was 5th in 21.95. Not pictured, Grandview's Griouard Weddington was 3rd in 21.53, and MICDS' Novo Onovwerosuoke 4th in 21.76.

Smithville's Rhett Foster won the 300-meter hurdles and was the runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles. The 110 hurdle champ was Kearney's Luke Noland, who was third in the long jump and sixth in the 200-meter dash and 4x200.

St. Joseph Benton's Kason Mauzey won a good high jump competition that saw 4 boys go over 1.96-meters/6-5'', clearing 2.01-meters/6-7''. Mauzey also took fifth in the 110 hurdles. MICDS won both the 4x200 and 4x400 relays with Tony Nunn, Winston Moore, Tristan Williams and Novo Onovwerosuoke.

 

St. Joseph Benton's Kason Mauzey cleared 2.01m/6-7'' to win the high jump.


The MICDS boys made it to the top of the awards podium twice, winning the 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays.

West Plains' Heston Miller capped a great junior year by medaling in four events: 100 (second), 200 (fifth), 4x100 (fourth), and 4x200 (second). Rolla's Nathan Pohlsander took second in the 3,200 and third in both the 800 and 1,600. Kirksville's Owen Fraser won the discus with a throw of 56.92-meters (186-9) and was fourth in both the javelin and shot put.

 

Kirksville's Owen Fraser had three tosses that were good enough to win the discus, including two over 180', with a best of 56.92m/186-9''.


Marshfield's Peyton McBride became a rare all-state medalist all three years this senior class could compete. The only other one on the boys side this year was Arrellano.

McBride won the long jump (7.15-meters/23-5.5'') and triple jump (14.20-meters/46-7.25''). He also ran legs on the Bluejays the all-state 4x200 (5th) and 4x100 (6th) relays.

Peyton McBride claimed the long jump and triple jump title for Marshfield.
