Class 4 District 3 @ Parkway Central Recap

Boys

St. Charles junior Nate Maples and Fort Zumwalt East junior Tyler Anderson battled for the lead in the boys race. Maples eventually dropped Anderson and field, winning in 17:03. DeSmet's William Poelker edged Lutheran St. Charles Aiden Kearns for 2nd, finishing in 17:12.29 to 17:12.54. Anderson settled for 4th in 17:17.

Behind Lutheran St. Charles' Kearns 3rd place, the Cougars' Isaac Lind, Milo Rush, Zeke Brown, and Jordan Reynolds placed 9-11-13-17 to give them 49 points for the team title. DeSmet's Poelker and Nolan Chickering, who finished 5th, led the Spartans to 2nd-place with 81 points. Parkway Central put Brendan Alfonso, Alexander Moresi, and Stuart Tournier 6-8-10 to lead the Colts to 3rd place to qualify for state.

Fort Zumwalt East and St. Charles both scored 118 points with Zumwalt East winning on a tiebreaker to take 4th and claim the final state meet spot. It looks to be the first state qualifying team for the newest of the four Fort Zumwalt School District high schools.  Hannibal was 6th, Parkway North 7th, Mexico 8th, Fort Zumwalt South 9th, and North Point 10th.
